Hello again,

Well, having mentioned that I was on the lookout for extra ideas to share with other Nuggets readers, I've been amazed at the response!

Some of you have had some great ideas, so I've decided to dedicate this issue to my readers and pick a selection of your best suggestions.

A Health Hole-in-One!
Mr D W told us his favourite health boost – sardines in olive oil. The best way to get lots of "good stuff" in one easy meal! Sardines are a great source of omega 3 oils, vitamins D and B12, and are also rich in Calcium if you eat them with the bones in! They're also pretty low in things like mercury and industrial pollutants, so you can enjoy plenty of them without worrying about contamination.

Ladies - Say no to stretch marks!
And here's a great tip about how to prevent stretch marks. J H wrote to us with this tip – this is how she prevented her stomach getting stretch marks during pregnancy. As your stomach starts getting bigger, use olive oil as a moisturiser after each bath – rub it all over the expanding area. Simple but clever!

Shoe polish dried up so you can't use it any more?
No need to worry about that - just add a little olive oil, and Mrs M W tells me your shoe polish will be usable again.

Get rid of hard skin on your feet - with bananas
As you may have seen in one of my previous nuggets (http://www.helpfulbooks.co.uk/Nuggets3.htm), banana skins are great for giving your shoes a shine. Well, it seems they're also great for softening the hard skin on your feet. S H told me about this one, and assures me it really does work.

Thanks everyone - keep the ideas coming!

Before I finish, I can't resist adding an idea of my own, so I'll leave you with one of the best uses I've seen for a carrot in ages: http://www.gemueseorchester.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=18&Itemid=32
Strictly speaking it's not my idea at all, of course, but I was so impressed I had to share it. Ideal to keep the children or grandchildren amused on a rainy afternoon. Plus, instead of throwing away the mess afterwards, you can just stick the lot in a stir-fry. How's that for recycling?!

Right, that's all for me for now - thanks for listening!
