Who else wishes using a digital camera was easy?
Since I wrote the One Step at a Time computer books, hundreds of people have asked me to write a book about digital photography.
"Tell me when to use the different settings" said some people. "How do I take better photos?" or "What should I look for when I’m choosing a camera?" said others. "What about printing the photos?" and "Help me edit them." asked some. And almost everyone said "The manual that came with the camera is no blummin’ help at all".
There’s just one little problem... I really don’t know much about digital cameras...
I can "point and shoot". But I don’t know the tricks and tips that make it easy for you to take good photos. Or the things you absolutely, positively must NOT do. Or what to look for when you buy a camera – what’s good and what’s a swizz.
At least I didn’t know all that, until now. Let me tell you what changed that...
Two friends of mine (Claire & Gemma) do know all about digital cameras. And by sheer good luck, they’re both writers – very good ones, who can explain things clearly. So...
...I asked them to help write a book: How to use the camera, put the photos on your PC, print them out, do basic editing... plus useful tips I would never have even thought of asking about. There are full colour pictures to SHOW you exactly what to do. And I made sure everything is explained as clearly as possible. I might have driven them mad saying “Could you make this a bit simpler?” and “Isn’t there an easier way to do this?” But as a result the book is as clear as it can be. In fact...
Now I want a copy. For myself.
Just some of the things you’ll learn from this full colour 77 page book:
- 8 golden rules to avoid damaging your camera or losing all your photos.
- 13 features to think about when you’re choosing a digital camera – don’t buy one without reading this.
- What type of zoom to go for… and what type is a swizz.
- What type of batteries NOT to use in your digital camera.
- What all the different "preset" modes do, and when to use them.
- The secret tip to taking good photos of your family.
- Putting your photos onto a CD (to backup or send to a friend) – the easy way.
- The settings that matter when you print your photos. Get top quality prints.
- 5 things to watch out for when you use the flash.
- How to avoid "camera shake" when you hold the camera by hand (I wish I’d known this years ago).
- The one thing to do before you edit your photos in any way.
And FREE photo editing software too...
Along with every copy of the book I’ll include a CDROM with Serif PhotoPlus 7 (a full photo editing program) on it. Whether you already have a photo editing program or not, you’ll be able to easily improve your photos with this.
The book explains how to edit your photos with this program. You also get six videos on the CD that SHOW you. If you want to remove red-eye, crop the edges off or lighten or darken a photo, watch the video on your PC. Seeing & hearing it first is the easiest way.
